Making motoring more affordable and accessible during tough times – Datsun All-in-1-GO Plan
Fixed cost motoring for owners became a reality for prospective owners of the Datsun GO today, with the launch of the Datsun’s All-in-1-GO plan - a unique financial offering that is the first package of its kind to be introduced to the highly competitive ‘A segment’ of South Africa’s motoring market.
And, says Des Fenner, General Manager of Datsun South Africa, “RISERS” new Datsun GO owners - drawn mainly from the 18 to 30 age group - will find it easier than ever before to qualify for the vehicle which has taken the entry-level A-segment car market by storm, since it was introduced in late 2014.
“For the Datsun GO driver, the All-in-1-GO offering means being able to make a single fixed monthly payment, that will cover all the major expenditure associated with vehicle ownership.
“Apart from the monthly car instalment, an added bonus is that consumers will also qualify for comprehensive insurance cover as part of the package. Further to this, Datsun GO drivers will be able to enjoy their vehicles knowing that they will also not have to dig into their pockets when scheduled vehicle services come around.”
“Perhaps the greatest advantage that the offering provides is its flexibility; opening the door to driving a brand new Datsun GO and making it possible for people who would not have qualified for traditional bank loans to fund their vehicles. This is because the plan is a streamlined ownership process that makes the requirements for owning a car far less onerous than the conservative process applied by most financial institutions.
“We are excited by this facet of the All-in-1-GO plan as it addresses one of the major issues faced by buyers in the 18-30 Generation Y market. Through no fault of their own, many find themselves being turned away by banks, as they are young or have recently started work for the first time and have not had the opportunity to build up credit histories.
“The new Datsun solution is specifically designed for this audience and although applicants are vetted for affordability, the process is aided by the fact that costs are pegged. This ensures that the vehicle is maintained according to Datsun standards for the duration of the agreement, guaranteeing peace of mind to purchasers,” says Mr Fenner.

Datsun originated in Japan as DAT-GO (the DAT-car) almost a century ago in 1914. The word DAT means ‘lightning-fast’ in Japanese but is also a reference to the three financiers who supported the business at the time – namely Mssrs. Den, Aoyama and Takeuchi – an acronym of the first letter of each name. Using the same logic, it was promoted as Durable, Attractive and Trustworthy, or DAT for short.
